PART TIME HEROES NEEDED!!
Dear Weaverville Residents,
For over 100 years the Weaverville Fire Department has been providing emergency services to our community. This protection has been professionally performed by dedicated volunteers who live here in the town of Weaverville. Our firefighters take great pride in ensuring that our neighbors enjoy the absolute best safety and comfort they deserve. However, as we strive to protect you, we are looking for some help - your help!
The Weaverville Fire Department is a volunteer department that operates out of one fire station located at 125 Bremer Street. The department currently has 18 volunteer firefighters that donate thousands of hours per year to help their neighbors, many of whom they have never met. The firefighters are typically citizens who work a full-time job and then donate time from their personal lives to train to be the best firefighters they can be. This "hobby" can be very rewarding, exhilarating and challenging. Most people that choose to get involved with the volunteer fire service enjoy it. The friendships that are made will last a lifetime. We call it a family - brothers and sisters working together to help those in need. We have many different roles for citizens to help with: assisting with fire prevention and education, grant writing, driving the fire apparatus, operating water pumps, assisting with traffic, operating the jaws of life, performing interior firefighting, medical response and fundraising. All of these roles, individually or cumulatively are equally important to us.
We are excited about sharing the opportunities that exist for you and how you can contribute to our organization. We are available most commonly Monday thru Friday 8am - 5pm, so stop by and learn more about your fire department. We are always happy to discuss the many roles in which you can assist.

We are working on our website and plan to offer more information about our department, how to keep you and your family safe from fire and updates on how you can contribute to your local fire organization through volunteering or donations.
