mar 8: Weaverville Fire District Commissioners approved spending about $14,000 for new Hurst Rescue cutters and spreaders. The new tools will be 2 to 3 times more powerful than WFD's present equipment. The stronger gear is needed for the Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) in modern automobiles, becoming more common since 2001.
mar 8: Junction City and Weaverville Fire units rolled to a reported 'flue fire' which turned out to be quite a bit more potentially serious. The fire, successfully suppressed by the homeowner with a garden hose, deeply charred the enclosure around the metal chimney of the built-in fireplace, and nearly extended into the attic.
feb 16: Weaverville Fire units and TCLS handled a vehicle accident with complex extrication on upper Oregon Street. Douglas City FD assisted.
feb 14: Valentine's Flame, a WFD fund-raiser. Despite pouring cold rain, firefighters sold-out their entire stock of 125 roses, 300 chocolate-dipped strawberries, and 100 teddy-bears. Thank you to Plotzke Ace Hardware for loan of the parking lot, and to all who participated in supporting the fire, medical and emergency services of the Weaverville Volunteer Fire Department.
feb 5: WFD, TCLS, CHP, & SO responded to a car-vs-pole, downtown. Two injuries were transported to Trinity Hospital.

jan 9: Vehicle Extrication Training in Douglas City. Two hours of lecture at Douglas City Firehall was followed by training and practice at Douglas City Garage, where 5 wrecked cars were opened up with a variety of rescue tools. Over 40 firefighters attended, representing Weaverville, Douglas City, Lewiston, Down River, Trinity Center, Junction City, Hayfork, and Hyampom Volunteer Fire Departments. Thank you, Douglas City Garage, for making this critical training possible!

dec 15: Volunteer firefighters (and volunteer trustees from the Trinity County Jail) repainted the Fire Museum at Station 1.
dec 12-13: Volunteers worked all weekend stripping old Rescue 2151; setting up 2161 as a temporary Rescue rig; and transferring the equipment 'box' from the old chasis to new. Still plenty to do before the new Rescue's ready. Note: over-the-bank ropes/hoist-hardware/etc is on 2131.

dec 8: Fire-fighters fought water at the Weaver Creek Apartments, when very cold weather burst a pipe in the attic.
dec 5: Weaverville FD stopped an early morning fire at 1-Stop Automotive on Ransom Road. Douglas City FD assisted. The fire was discovered by a CHP unit investigating a security alarm at the location. (See Press Release.)
dec 2: Weaverville units responded to a foggy big rig wreck on Highway 299 at Oregon Summit. The driver was transported by Trinity County Life Support to Trinity Hospital.
dec 1: Weaverville Fire Protection District is awarded $130,000 to continue its Hazard Reduction program in 2010. The action, by the Trinity County Board of Supervisors, allocated funds from Title III of the Federal Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000.
nov 12: Weaverville and Trinity Center FD units responded to a log truck wreck on Highway 3 near Trinity Center. The driver was transported by Trinity County Life Support to Trinity Hospital.
